Polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) we market goes by the trade name Sultron® and is an amorphous high performance thermoplastic that offers better impact resistance and chemical resistance than polysulfone (PSU) and polyetherimide (PEI).

Sultron® PPSU offers superior hydrolysis resistance compared to other amorphous thermoplastics, as measured by steam autoclaving cycles to failure. In fact, Sultron® PPSU has virtually unlimited steam sterilizability. This factor makes it an excellent choice for medical equipment as steam autoclaves are widely used to sterilize medical equipment. It also resists common acids and bases – including commercial washing solutions – over a wide temperature range.

Polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) is found in nature (off-white) and is available in transparent and variant different colors. It is widely used in sterilization trays, handles for dental and surgical instruments, and in fluid handling fittings and fitting applications. Polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) is compliant with USP Class VI. It is suitable for use in electronic assembly equipment and devices that must withstand soldering temperatures. Polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) has a heat deflection temperature of 207°C (405°F).
