Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) belongs to the more advanced semi-crystalline materials in our range. It has a very high degree of crystallinity and has a very low surface energy.

PTFE can withstand continuous use temperatures between -200°C to +260°C and is not degraded by UV light.

The material has good chemical resistance and can be used in environments within the entire ph scale.

We offer PTFE both unfilled and filled with, among other things, fiberglass, carbon, graphite, bronze, stainless steel, iron, mica, mica, etc.

Areas of use for fluoroplastics:

  • Gaskets
  • Seals
  • Filter
  • Valves
  • Rust protection
  • Pipe parts
  • Skittles
  • Sliding details

The properties of polytetrafluoroethylene products

PTFE is categorized by its slippery surface, high melting point, and resistance to attack by almost all chemicals. It is well suited for compression molding and extrusion. It is a very difficult material to work with, but it can be machined. The plastic is best known by trademarks such as

  • Teflon
  • Fluon
  • Hostaflon
  • Polyflon.

These properties lead to fluoroplastic being used in applications that can be found in such things as

  • bearings
  • pipelines
  • parts for valves and pumps
  • coating on nonstick cookware
  • electrical insulation material.

The advantages of polytetrafluoroethylene engineering

  • PTFE is versatile, and the use of this material is staggering.
  • The plastics’ ability to repel water and oil makes polytetrafluoroethylene resistant to corrosion.
  • PTFE coat is non-wetting, facilitating self-cleaning of parts.
  • The plastic is long-lasting and high-performing which adds to the efficiency of any machinery and reduces the need to constantly acquire replacement parts, saving both money and the time needed to fit the replacements, as well as reducing waste.
