Benefits

The benefits of PEEK TX plastic

  • The material has excellent wear and sliding properties.
  • It can withstand high temperatures of up to 250°C continuously in air.
  • It is also very resistant to hot water vapor.
  • The material is low in flammability (UL94 V-0).
  • It emits minimal smoke and toxic gases.
  • The material has excellent chemical resistance and fatigue strength.
  • It is hydrolysis resistant.
  • The material is radiation-resistant and has a relatively low melt viscosity.
  • It is also flame retardant.

Restrictions

Limitations of PEEK TX

  • PEEK TX can be relatively expensive compared to other engineering plastics.
  • High form creep.
  • Not resistant to sulfuric acid.
  • PEEK TX is more difficult to process than traditional plastics and metals.
  • High thermal expansion, which can lead to problems with fit and function at high temperatures.

Specific properties

PEEK TX is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic that belongs to the group of high-performance plastics. It is made of polyetheretherketone (PEEK), which is a synthetic polymer with excellent mechanical, chemical, and thermal properties.

PEEK TX / PEEK TX FG is specifically developed for use in food manufacturing. Like PEEK 1000, this material is modified for increased abrasion resistance and wear resistance and has an approval for contact with food. The material is especially suitable for use as a bearing material and abrasion surface in the temperature range from + 100 ° C to + 200ºC.

Other areas of use include:

  • Bearings for industrial machinery.
  • Pump parts for the food industry.
  • Water purification filter.
  • Surgical implants.
  • Aircraft parts.
