Material data sheet SI GC 202 |
This thermosetting plastic is made of glass fabric soaked with silicone resin. The material is rigid and can withstand high temperatures. In addition, the material has very good electrical insulation, especially at high frequencies. Note that its mechanical strength is slightly less than with other glass fabric laminates.
Temperature resistance is high. Continuous use temperature is about + 200ºC and the material largely retains its mechanical and electrical values up to this temperature.
Some reduced stiffness may occur with continuous use up to the temperature limit, which must be taken into account. The material can be exposed to a temperature of approx. + 240ºC for a short time. Its ability to resist ignition is high.
In applications that involve exposure to microwave and RF equipment for, for example, medical technology use and food manufacturing, the material is an excellent choice. Note the material’s low tan D-value, which means that the material does not
heated in high frequency applications.
