Business Area
Medtech
Carlsson & Möller’s Medical Technology business area focuses on applications within the life sciences, such as biotechnology, diagnostics, pharmaceutical production equipment, and medical devices.
Engineering plastics are processed and moulded in a cost-effective manner. Some plastics meet the high hygiene standards by withstanding sterilisation using UV radiation, steam, chemicals, etc.
Materials used in medical technology often require classification and approval in accordance with current regulatory requirements. Some plastics meet the requirements for medical use, so-called biocompatible plastics, for use in contact with the body for up to 24 hours.
Carlsson & Möller has expertise in regulatory requirements and supplies a wide range of materials with biocompatibility in accordance with ISO 10993, USP, VI, AOF, FDA, among others.
A specific range of plastics meets the requirements for in vivo use, i.e. as implants.
The above necessitates knowledge of regulatory requirements, the selection of suitable materials, and the restrictions associated with them.
Carlsson & Möller has extensive experience in engineering plastics for medical technology applications. We offer expert technical support and advice – from concept development and material selection to the machining and finishing of finished products.
Our LSG (Life Science Grade) materials and finished components can, if required, be supplied with full traceability in accordance with SS EN 10204.
Thanks to our flexibility, we can cost-effectively manufacture everything from single prototypes and short runs to larger series with high quality and surface finish.
By processing plastic materials exclusively with non-animal-based cutting fluids, we ensure clean production without any risk of contamination.
Carlsson & Möller can also handle the assembly of various parts and components, as well as supply fully finished products ready for final assembly.
