Reduced weight and improved performance
Lightweight structures mean lower energy consumption and reduced environmental impact. Construction plastics are the solution here, as components made from these materials can be up to 80-85 percent lighter than components made from metal.
However, engineering plastics have many other advantages, such as low friction and high wear resistance. With bearings, guide rails, rollers, roller tracks, wear strips, etc., made of engineering plastic, maintenance costs can be significantly reduced and operational reliability increased. Furthermore, engineering plastics are resistant to chemicals and various liquids, and can withstand both high and low temperatures. Engineering plastics can therefore be used in a wide variety of application areas.
