Cutting data
Polymeric materials in our range are solid and to a limited extent elastic at room temperature and can be processed with cutting machining (chip cutting method). However, in some cases the difference is large compared to cutting processing of metal or wood.
We carry out cutting processing in the form of turning, milling, drilling, planing, grinding and sawing. We can offer rubber materials and thermoplastic elastomers, but we do not process these materials internally in our own workshop, but use subcontractors.
Plastic materials differ from metals in essential respects. Typically, they have low thermal conductivity, some rebound after mechanical stress, are less rigid than metals and have a five to ten times higher thermal expansion than metals. Therefore, the classic methods for metals differ somewhat when it comes to plastic materials, which must be taken into account when planning and preparing for processing. Furthermore, in some cases, temperature compensation may also be required due to the mobility of the material when heated.
